When Laura Poché turned 15, she ran for office and won.

As governor of the American Legion Auxiliary “Girls State” experiential learning program, Laura took her first step towards forging a career out of her desire to guide and help others during their most trying times.

She realized she had a gift – taking the most complicated, intimidating concepts and simplifying them for people in need of clarity. Her path towards marrying her gift with a corresponding career took many turns, first heading towards medicine and business before taking her to law school at Louisiana State University where she graduated in 1989.

After six years of representing insurance companies as a fresh law school graduate, she decided to make a change. She realized that her clients were too big, too impersonal, and too distant for her to feel fulfilled. In Laura’s words, “my goal in life was to really help people, but I didn’t feel the love…didn’t feel I was helping others in a positive way.”

Years of hard work, yearning, and a refusal to settle for anything less than a career rich with meaning lead Laura to commit herself to a specialty in legal estate planning and her subsequent accumulation of 25 years of expertise. By helping people plan for the most vulnerable, emotionally trying time of life, Mrs. Poché has combined her unparalleled experience with a degree of empathy which has truly transformed her practice from a “profession to a ministry.”

Working with people from all walks of life has shown Laura that life holds a few absolute truths. Regardless of your net worth, peace of mind bears no price tag. Life is too short and too precious for the strife of costly and life-sucking litigation, and Laura Poché will be your ally and friend should you decide to plan NOW to protect your assets for the benefit of your loved ones so you can enjoy the rest of your life in as much peace as possible.

Laura Claverie Poche’ is a board-certified estate planning and administration specialist in the state of Louisiana.
